What is the training method used in this program?
We use positive reinforcement for our training methods. First we teach people how to lure their dog with food into the position we are working on. This also teaches the dog and human a hand signal for each exercise. After, the exercise is solidified, we teach people how to get rid of the lure, and then how to use the food as a reward instead. This way, people don't feel as though they are bribing their dog. Training with food is a wonderful method, but learning how to "fade" the lure, and instead reward, is the real magic of positive reinforcement. The best part is this method uses no harsh tactics, no intimidating and no hitting or yelling.
